We are always looking for new volunteers to help keep this service operating to a high standard. If you are motivated to assist members of your community by helping to keep those on or near our beautiful Felixstowe coast line and surrounding areas safe and have a passion to promote water safety, then we would like to hear from you.
Most of our volunteers take part in operational duties and marine patrols, but there are plenty of other roles that include fundraising, training, administration and shore patrols.
We pride ourselves on having and promoting diversity in our team.
LIFEBOAT CREW
If you are aged 18+, a competent swimmer, physically fit and enjoy being on the water in all weathers.
OPERATIONAL SUPPORT/ SHORE CREW
Dont fancy being on the boat ? Don’t worry we also have a very important operational support/shore crew who help maintain the lifeboat, trailer, launch and recover, wash down, refuel etc
FUNDRAISING / OUTREACH TEAM
Without fundraisers, we cant operate. We rely 100% on donations to keep the team afloat, so fundraising is instrumental to our success. Our fundraisers attend events to raise our public profile and seek opportunities to apply for grants where we require. The team along with the lifeboat and shore support. crew also visit schools to teach / promote water safety.
